INTAVISTA Privacy Panels
Blackout vs White Frost, Flush Fit, 250 x 800mm
A recent theatre refurbishment project at Southampton Hospital showcased excellent use of both Blackout and White Frost finishes, all within the same theatre suite.
In line with HTM guidance, privacy panels fitted between the theatre and surrounding prep rooms were specified as White Frost, to maximise light transmission through the hospital, however privacy panels fitted between the theatre and surrounding corridors were specified as Blackout, to reduce distraction to theatre staff from passing corridor foot traffic.

A number of laser shielding privacy vision panels were supplied with a unique lockable handle mechanism. Once the locking device was engaged, users on the corridor side of the doorsets were prevented from opening the laser blind and the lock could only be disengaged from inside the room.
LASERBLOC with microswitches

IntaVista Laserbloc privacy vision panels proudly lead the way with Phase 1 of Southampton General Hospital’s refurbishment. Our Laserbloc panels uniquely offer universal laser protection against all medical lasers.
Further additions included integrated microswitches housed inside the glass panels. Integrated microswitches within Laserbloc panels are linked to a room’s laser control panel, allowing it to monitor whether the blinds are in their ‘open’ or ‘closed’ positions. Any attempted operation of the laser device with an open blind can be configured to prevent the device from firing, or for an audio/ visual alarm to be triggered.
